Girls' UK Getaway: REUNITED (2 of 7)

A little bit of background: Marianne was one of my closest friends in 5th grade. Originally from France, she spent several years in the US with her family, but moved back to Paris when we started Middle School. Just after 8th grade, Mom and I visited Marianne and her mother (Danielle) in France. We had a BLAST with them and have often dreamt of another vacation together. Miraculously, we were able to arrange a spur-of-the-moment trip for the four of us. So, on Tuesday morning, Mom and I went to meet Marianne at Charing Cross Station in London!
On the train, we immediately dove into conversation

This is a photo of the outside of the Inn we stayed in whilst in Canterbury. It was established in the 1400s!
Voila! "Downtown" Canterbury!
The city feels (and is) Medieval. I don't think I've ever been anywhere that has felt as old/historic. Also, the buildings, streets,  and school children's uniforms looked like they came straight out of Harry Potter!
An old "hospital," which as it turns out is a free hostel for the elderly
Mom and I enjoyed Pastys
One of the highlights of our stay in Canterbury was a delicious tea at Tiny Tim's Tearoom. Mom and Danielle pose in front of the shop!
Words cannot express how delicious my lemon cake and homemade icecream were.
Mom kept saying, "I'm in heaven!"
Check out the cool door (totally slanted) on this old bookshop!
Indian dinner on our first night!
Marianne and I shared a room. Even though it's cute, this photo is not representative of how we spent our time. Although we were up until 2am both nights, we spent no more than 20 minutes on the computer.
At around 2am, we both fell blissfully asleep.
